Risk assessment for LNG/Condensate vessels calling Hammerfest LNG plant at Melkoya
The Norwegian Coastal Administration has made a risk assessment regarding how many large LNG/Condensate vessels that may anchor or berth simultaneously waiting for free berth at Melkoya LNG plant, Hammerfest.
The conclusion is that from 12 January 2009, maximum two vessels will be allowed to enter the anchorage area, or one at anchorage and one alongside jetty. Excess vessels will have to drift outside 12 nm in a defined waiting area.
