Representatives from Hammerfest County, StatoilHydro and the Norwegian TV were participating in a seremony onboard before the departure.
The ship agency was handled by our branch office at Hammerfest.

The Snøhvit area comprises the Snøhvit, Albatross and Askeladd fields, which lie in the Hammerfest Basin of the Barents Sea at 70 degrees North, north-west of Hammerfest in Norway.

The Arctic Princess is operated by StatoilHydro LNG Shipping and is managed by Leif Hoegh & Co ASA.

Snøhvit was discovered in 1984 and all the fields primarily contain natural gas with small quantities of condensate.

When the authorities approved this unitisation agreement in July 2000, the licences were extended until 2035.

Interests in the seven licences are now heldt by StatoilHydro, Petoro, Total, Gaz de France, Amerada Hess and RWE Dea, where StatoilHydro is the operator.
